Old/new
This is inspired by post-modernism, combining styles and the old and new. I discovered these building by the docks in Liverpool. I loved the way the old and new buildings fit so perfectly together side by side, yet were in so very stark contrast to each other. I thought it was beautiful! Not having my sketchbook at hand, I took a photo, then made a sketch and painted the picture later. I love the symbolism of the past and present in one image.
